Total upgrade of a casting furnace
Casting furnace before upgrade
With the upgrade of this aluminium casting furnace, the following improvements have been realized:
- bath content increased from 27 tons to 32 tons
- charging opening enlarged to the interior width of the furnace
(leading to a better cleaning of the furnace)
- burners moved to the back wall (leading to improved heat transfer and also drive up of the dross in the direction of the charging door)
- fume extraction moved to the door side (leading to reduced heat losses caused by cold air infiltrations)
- installation of a pressure control system using an air screen at the fume outlet
(according to client's measurement: 15% reduction of fuel consumption).
